2 top write ups and a podcast, what more do you want?

Before we begin, click play on the widget above and you will hear last Saturday's additional serving of Synthopia, which features a track from us, amongst others. Synthopia usually airs on a Friday at 11am UK time on 1radio.org .However, last week was unusual in that Skerat, the show's host, opted to broadcast two helpings of contemporary synth music as a treat for fans.

You can listen to previous shows via http://synthopia.podomatic.com/, all of which are available to download for free, and many of which include tracks by us as well as the current crop of new synth bands. If this sort of thing floats your boat, and you'd like to hear more, you can join the Synthopia facebook group for details of upcoming shows, and many posts from the artists that Skerat plays, including us.

Now that the soundtrack has kicked in, read on as we have a couple of things to tell you about.

First of all, we have news of a review of our album from the Never Loved a Shovel Blog. which gave very good quote: "The synth sound is at times epic, like the soundtrack to the next John Carpenter movie, a deeply black murder comedy obviously."

Of course, we've harvested the review for quotes...here's another one:

"It's really hard to do justice to this album in mere words so the best advice I can give is go out and buy it, it's a fucking great album!"

However, you should support the bloggers who support the artists and go and read in full. You could even leave a comment; bloggers like that sort of thing...

And finally, on to the Synth Caresses blog, which has already featured Owen's early ambient music. This week, it was our turn, and we had a lot of fun with this write up. The blog's author, having noticed that we'd already been asked most of the 'usual' questions, decided on a different tack and included a 'Patient Information Leaflet' which you HAVE to read. It's very funny. Prior to the medical advice you will find that this blogger also gives good quote:

"Up to a certain extent, T!TN tries to retrieve the sounds of early synth-pop, avoiding sounding too sophisticated. In their music, you will find catchy melodies, a definite punk non-conformism, tongue-in-cheek humour, underground freshness, and vintage electronic effects, all to the glory of the people who lived the prime of electro-pop back in the early eighties and also to the glory of the new generations who are rediscovering it through the classics or through new acts such as Marsheaux, Ladytron and such likes."

But DO make sure you visit the blog, and read the advice re. dosage and medical conditions; we wouldn't want to clash with your meds. As we've mentioned here before, we can't be held responsible for any injuries incurred whilst listening to our music...AND watch out for sharps...

T!TN interview on ‘One Collector Thousand Tunes’

You may recall a few blogs back where we mentioned that we’d been played on the show ‘One Collector Thousand Tunes’ hosted by Mitrakos Evangelos on Greek online radio station La Cooperativa Web Radio. We were also very flattered to discover a Tingle In The Netherlands page on the station website.

Following that post, Mitrakos asked if we’d like to be interviewed for a Tingle In The Netherlands special, so of course we said ‘Yes!’

You can listen to the full show, via the mixcloud widget below; the show includes some of our tracks, as recommended by us, as well as our interview.

You can hear our answers in both English and Greek as Mitrakos translates the answers for Greek listeners. So, many thanks to Mitrakos for helping us to reach new listeners overseas. Thanks Mitrakos!

Two Excellent Electronic Mixclouds for you from Essex and Kent!

HT: Despite being based up north we've been spending a lot of time listening to some great local radio stations from dahn sarf. Thanks to the wonder of the web, every local radio show on the planet is available in the global village and so we've been tuning in when'er we've been aired. This is all part of our slow but sure strategy towards world domination. Village by village, community by community, we will use our synthtastic stealth to worm our way into your ears and ultimately your hearts. Have you seen the time? I get more verbose when I'm tired...

So, first up we have Rob Harvey's Saturday Breakfast show from 22nd June 2013 which includes the likes of us along with Ultravox, Goldfrapp, Depeche Mode and ZZ Top. ZZ Top? Well anyway, it's a very good music show from Essex radio station Phoenix FM. We sent our CD to Rob last week and he has already reported that he can't stop singing 'Prostitute's Handbag'. Obviously resistance is futile.

Once you've listened to Rob's show, you can scroll further south and you will find a mixcloud widget from Sheppey FM's excellent Bluetown Electronica. This show is sheer bliss if you love electronic music in all its forms. Our tracks don't appear on the listings on the mixcloud, but we're there, hiding in clear sight...

The Notorious New Wave Show - Host Gina Achord - June 21, 2013

HT: A big thank you goes out to Gina Achord for playing 'Prostitute's Handbag' on the latest edition of The Notorious New Wave Show

This week's show features exclusively female fronted bands as well as an  interview with Saffron, singer for Republica. Plus La Roux, Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Pretenders, Vile Electrodes, Bananarama, Goldfrapp, Strawberry Switchblade, Blondie and little 'ol us. I enjoyed it so much I had my period! (That last sentence is a joke btw). As ever, it's great to have our music played but even better when we're played alongside so many great artists old and new. Thanks Gina!

Mixclouds Galore...

There's not a cloud in the sky and it finally appears as if we have some seasonally sunshiny weather here in Blighty after months of cold grey gloom. Here's a picture of some sunshine beaming down on Dungeness Power Station that we took when we were on holiday the other year just in case you've forgotten what sunshine looks like.

However, there's a couple of welcome clouds on the horizon both of which would make ideal playlists for your BBQ or similar outdoor extravaganza.

The first one is a treat for synthpoppers as it includes T!TN along with a spot of metaphorical rainfall. Here are the show's details as written by the host Barbara Laurson of Fallen Rock Zone Fame.

Episode 2 of The Sun And The Rainfall is a collection of Alternative Indie artists ranging from Alternative rock to synth and electro pop and new wave: Curxes, The Big Pink, Klovavenus, Fiction 8, Tingle In The Netherlands, Ming The Mong, Lotropic, Tenek, Low Tide Theory, R3SET, Jenna F., Photostat Machine, Jonteknik.

Mixcloud number 2 in this blog is another aural delight from Bob Osborne as described by the man himself:

This time around the focus is on Aberdeen band Miss Lucid with all of their new EP and all of their first EP - I spoil you sometimes. As well as that the new single from Mr Graney, all of the new EP from The Nyco Project, another cut from the forthcoming "Glamourpus" release from Luis Drayton, and loads more brand new tunes....and one or two classics thrown in at the end to spice up the mix......more information at www.bobonscr.com

Rattlebag Radio Presents...Under The Electric Blanket by By Ian Thistlethwaite

On Monday night we put out a call to any DJs who might like us  to record a jingle for them. We were already recording a couple for Mitrakos Evangelos from La Cooperativa Radio in Greece (make sure you click on that link - we'll have more news re. this in future posts) so we thought we'd see if anyone else wanted one.

Suddenly, out of the twittersphere appeared a man by the name of Ian Thistlethwaite who asked for a jingle for one of his Rattlebag Radio podcasts.  Of course, we were very happy to oblige because we're nice like that.

The very next day, our jingle appeared in the 'Under The Electric Blanket' mixcloud podcast which is pasted below. Much as we'd like to claim that our jingle is the best thing on there, it isn't, as the mixcloud is full of some really interesting new electronic sounds and musicians, including a favourite of ours Cloud Waste and the Calf.

There's a good few artists on here that we intend to check out further. It's well worth a listen...despite our jingle...
